SPIRULINA MERMAID BOWL

IMG-2380.jpg

I could go on and on about spirulina and how amazing it is for you but I’ll keep it concise so this doesn’t turn into an essay. Spirulina is a blue-green algae that is rich in vitamins, minerals, protein, chlorophyll, and antioxidants that help repair cell damage. It has 2300% more iron than spinach and 300% more protein than tofu. It also gives you a boost of sustainable energy and reduces symptoms of depression. Spirulina has even has been known to prevent the risk of cancer. So what I’m saying is you should be incorporating this superfood into your diet to become a healthy, glowing mermaid (lol).

For real though, this spirulina smoothie bowl makes you feel like a mermaid. From the vibey ocean colour, to the tropical flavors, and the glowy skin you’ll have a result of consuming it. It is full of vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants. It’s also vibrant and life-giving, as opposed to say, starting your day with cholesterol-packed eggs and bacon. Fruit is truly a remarkable thing, because think about it! In order to grow, it needs sunshine and water. When you eat fruit, you’re consuming the sun’s energy. Fruit floods your body with phytonutrients, makes your skin glow, hydrates your body, repairs your cells, and heals free-radical damage.

In case you’re wondering where in the world you can buy spirulina… I buy mine from Thrive Market because the price and quality is unbeatable. Purchase through this link and you’ll get 25% off your first order and free shipping!

The trick to making delicious smoothie bowls is to use frozen fruit. When you freeze your bananas, cut them into smaller pieces so they blend easier. The other secret is to top it with bomb-ass (do people still say that) toppings. Decorating smoothie bowls has become my creative outlet. But maybe I have too much time on my hands. Either way, I hope you enjoy.
